I have been very busy lately. Namely trying to rebuild my Linux server which had a motherboard failure. I did not know it was a motherboard failure as it appeared to be a hard drive failure. I replaced the hard drive only to meet the same fate. Then I purchased a new motherboard only to find one of the replacement drives I bought was defective. I am still working through the RMA process with Newegg to get that replaced (the best site for PC stuff hands down). In the meantime I decided to rebuild the server as part of my Home Theater center. Thus I purchased a TV tuner card. Wouldn’t you know it, but that card was incompatible with Linux. I then purchased the HDHomeRun and found that to be incompatible with DirectTV. Needless to say, I am about fed up with the incompatibilities and might just turn back to Vista Ultimate to run my Home Theater PC. The jury is still out on this decision, but my arms are flailing as I begin a decent over to the Vista side of the fence.

Needless to say, since my server is down, all my music is inaccessible from my site. That above all else is making this downtime seem like eternity. All my tunes are out of commission. This also prompted me to wise up to the world of backup online storage. I purchased unlimited storage for twenty bucks from OnlineStorageSolution.com. the fence comes into play, once again, as I am still on it about this company. I have not been disapointed, but as the next best storage out there is more expensive and has less storage to offer, I am left wondering if this is too good to be true. Please if anyone has any pertinent insight, do let me know. At this time, the only downfall to them is their CS. I have repeatedly asked for a copy of the EULA to no response. Hmmmm… makes one wonder.

On top of all this, I have been very busy with the Lake Placid Film Forum website. As the webmaster, I am driven by countless emails daily to update, modify and/or retrofit information into the Joomla! back end. The LPFF is this weekend and that means once it’s over, I will have some additional free time to devote to… what else, all the things I have been neglecting. For instance, my writing, the scrimshaw and I have been doing some sketching again.

Regardless of what I have been busy with, one thing that is for certain, I am where I want to be and with the one I want. That I can be thankful for!
